Calling all nature lovers! Join Troop Leader Ms. Danielle for eight adventures around rva! Each session is at a different location with a different theme and we are excited to welcome to some special guests this season!

You can sign-up for each individual class (or register for all).

See below for descriptions, locations, and prices for each session. Specific details including meeting place, contact information, etc., will be sent about a week before each session.

  • Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

    Meet me at the VMFA for a nature drawing lesson + a scavenger hunt! If the weather is nice, we will enjoy some time on the lawn.

    Max 6 kiddos.

    All supplies provided. Children will get their own drawing notebook to take home.

    This is a drop off and pick up event.

  • Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

    Let’s learn how to make paper from a recycled egg carton! Paper making is an ancient Chinese tradition using materials resembling hemp, water, and a little bit of patience.

    Max 6 kiddos.

    All supplies provided. Children will get to take home their homemade paper.

    This is a drop off and pick-up event.

  • Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

    Join me and local artist and baker, Olivia Wilson, as we explore food found in nature, including edible flowers.

    About Olivia: Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, Olivia attended The French Culinary Institute in NYC and received a degree in Pastry Arts. After graduating she went on to work at Bouchon, Per Se, The Inn at Little Washington. Once she landed in Richmond, VA, she created a pastry and bread program at Metzger Bar and Butchery and again at Brenner Pass in Richmond, VA. She is passionate about community and is always helping to create a better tomorrow.

    We are SO lucky to have her join us for this once in a lifetime workshop!

    This is a drop off and pick up event at CoFlow RVA located in the East End at 2416 Jefferson Avenue.

  • Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

    Let’s learn about FLOWER PRESSING! One of my favorite activities, we will combine a lesson native flowers with the science on how to preserve them. The best part? Each child gets their own mini flower press to take home!

    Max 6 kiddos.

    This is a drop off and pick up event. Location will be in RVA and will be sent to those registered when solidified.

  • Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

    We’re back at the farm! Join me at Specklebelly Barn for some nature-based crafts and games and a farm tour with Ms. Cathy!

    Max 8 kiddos. Ages 4+.

  • Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm

    For those who missed our natural tie-dye workshop, we are back to learn more about dyes found in nature! Join Shannon and I for this fun and interactive workshop as we dye our own bucket hats, just in time for spring weather!

    About Shannon: Inspired by her work as a teaching artist, Shannon spends days outside of the classroom engaging deeply with the craft of creating natural pigment from plants, soils, food waste, and insects. Shannon Studio was created out of a love for learning about plants and using their color, in combination with a love for sharing that knowledge with others. Shannon is passionate about providing folks with an introduction to natural color that has been created in a way that is sustainable, joy-making, and regenerative.

    Max 10 kiddos. Ages 4+.

    This is a drop off and pick up event. Location will be at The Wild Heart Shop side yard located at 105 S. Addison Street.

  • Time: 10:00am-12:30pm

    Meet me at the Robins Nature Center for an outdoor adventure at Maymont. Will we learn about the animals? Yes. Will be name them? Probably? Will we roll down a hill? Most definitely.

    Send your child with a lunch and we will enjoy a picnic on the lawn together! Each child will get a take home activity about animals.

    This is a drop off and pick up event.

  • Time: 10:00am-12:30pm

    We are topping off Troop Sage adventures at one of my favorite places in Richmond. We will do a tour of Lewis Ginter and learn about native flowers and have a watercolor lesson on the lawn. Each child will get a watercolor kit to take home.

    Send your child with a lunch and we will enjoy a picnic on the lawn together!

  • After signing up for the session(s) for your child, you will receive a Venmo request from me for payment. Payment is due one week before the workshop.

  • Troop Sage is for children ages 4 and up.

    *Child must be potty-trained.

  • Life happens! I get it! I also appreciate you understanding that this is a one woman small business.

    I will happily refund session costs up to 3 days before the session, minus materials costs. This will allow me to reach out to someone on the waitlist.
